The guided round (!) tour for both mines, situated above one another, takes approximately an hour! Our round tour guarantees something new to discover at every turn. “There and back again” - as elsewhere - would be only half the fun!

The Slate Mining Educational Trail (“Grubenwanderweg”)
uided Tours Above Ground (Slate Mining Educational Trail Nossern Valley) The slate mining educational trail which passes 12 historic entry tunnels and numerous illustration and information boards, is open throughout the year! A guided tour for groups is available with advance notice at any time (please let us know at the exhibition mine). The meeting place for groups would then be on the Schürzig Halde (Schürzig Dump), where there is also sufficient parking space.

Guided Tour Route The guided tour occurs above ground, from entrance tunnel to entrance tunnel along the pit trail. The tour takes at least an hour (shortest route), but can extended to last up to three hours. The round tour leads through a mining landscape reconquered by nature past mine cars, dumps and slate tunnels.
